Redefining Lightweighting and Efficiency

EvoBLOW Laser sets a new benchmark for performance in the food and beverage packaging industry, redefining lightweighting for PET and recycled PET (rPET), and raising the bar in efficiency, quality, ease and sustainability.

A Legacy Of Innovation

Pietro Cassani, Sidel President and CEO, shares: “Sidel has led the way in blowing technology for over 45 years. At drinktec, we now unveil the world’s first industrialised laser-powered solution, which is a game-changer. Our pioneering commercial PET blower in 1980 revolutionised packaging. Now EvoBLOW Laser will reshape the industry again, setting a new standard for line efficiency and opening new lightweighting possibilities.”

A New Era For PET Packaging

For decades, halogen technology has served the global market for PET packaging. It has seen significant advances and widespread success, but without a viable alternative – until now. With today’s new solution, the industry not only recognises fundamental limitations of halogen-based heating but overcomes them entering a new era.

Precision For Stronger And Lighter Bottles

One advantage of laser-based technology is its inherent precision. This accuracy enables both lighter and stronger containers – a paradox solved. The EvoBLOW Laser utilises up to 36 heating lines versus eight in traditional halogen systems, allowing precise material distribution and record-breaking results.

Consistent Quality From First Bottle To Last

Halogen solutions are sensitive to environmental conditions and necessitate frequent adjustments. Laser technology ensures stable, repeatable results from the first bottle to the last, regardless of ambient conditions.

Efficiency Gains For Manufacturers

The EvoBLOW Laser’s cold start capability eliminates downtime, while live speed modulation allows automatic line adjustments. It also simplifies logistics by blowing a wide range of formats from the same preform.

Operators benefit from intuitive controls, zero burn risk due to cold oven tech, and easier maintenance with no fans or filters.

The system supports increased rPET use, adapts quickly to material variations, and reduces preform waste. It’s a significant step forward for sustainable packaging.

Field Testing with Refresco

Thanks to Sidel’s partnership with Refresco, the world’s largest independent beverage solution provider, EvoBLOW Laser has been rigorously tested, achieving remarkable success.
