This innovation ensures the Switchblade remains competitively priced while advancing the dream of personal air travel.

“This is a historic manufacturing shift,” said Michael Maxwell, Samson’s R&D Chief.

Builder Assist Program Simplifies Flying Car Construction

At the core of this system is the Builder Assist Program, developed to help owners meet the FAA’s 51% construction requirement for Experimental Category aircraft. Rather than requiring specialist skills, customers use computer-guided machinery to fabricate parts with high precision and efficiency.

Switchblade technicians handle the final assembly, ensuring consistent quality while reducing the customer’s hands-on build time from over three weeks to just one week at the Build Center.

“Our high-tech system saves owners time and money while delivering a unique experience,” added Sam Bousfield, CEO and designer of the Switchblade.

High Demand and Sustainable Production

With over 2,400 reservations across 50+ countries and all 50 U.S. states, Samson Sky is preparing for large-scale production, targeting 2026 deliveries.

The new manufacturing process also reduces environmental impact. By streamlining part production, Samson Sky has created a scalable, eco-friendly model for producing high-performance components with a fraction of the waste and carbon footprint associated with conventional techniques.

“We’re transforming travel while reducing our environmental footprint,” said Bousfield.

Fastest, Most Accessible Builder Assist Experience in the Industry

Unlike other Builder Assist programs that require weeks or months of customer labor, Samson’s program leverages automated manufacturing and simplified assembly tasks. Customers can complete their portion in just one week or less at a Samson Builder Assist Center — an industry first for flying cars.

“Owning a flying car brings prestige — but building it elevates you to Tony Stark status,” Bousfield quipped.

Switchblade Flying Car: Hybrid Electric Performance on Road and Air

The Switchblade Flying Sports Car is a hybrid-electric, street-legal vehicle designed for seamless road and air travel. Drive it from your garage to a nearby airport, deploy the wings and tail in under three minutes, and take to the skies.

With seating for two, storage for travel bags, and a cruising speed of 160 mph in the air, the Switchblade transforms long, stressful road trips into smooth, time-saving adventures. It covers up to 450 miles on a single tank of premium auto gas.
