A Data-Driven Approach to Identifying Robotics Leaders

The annual list, first released in 2019, is derived from a combination of proprietary data, direct industry research, and case studies. Unlike previous years’ lists, the 2025 Robotics Top 50 list includes a significant degree of segmentation, identifying the top performing technologies by functions relative to one of the three overarching categories.

Diversity and Depth: The Growing Robotics Landscape

“Robotics is a burgeoning technology in our industry, but one with exceptional promise,” says Audrey Lynch, senior analyst at BuiltWorlds and the author of the Robotics Top 50 list. “This year’s list reflects the growing diversity of options, with 10 distinct subcategories included in the report.”

Breaking Down the Robotics Top 50 List Segments

The segments include:

● Onsite Robotics
○ Inspection & QA
○ Materials Handling & Logistics
○ Welding & Rebar
○ Concrete Finishing & Printing
○ Installation & Finishing
○ Layout Robotics

● Offsite Robotics
○ 3D Printing
○ Modular & Prefab Assembly

● Automated Machinery & Related Solutions
○ Earthwork & Site Preparation
○ Demolition

Market Growth and Future Potential of Construction Robotics

Increased diversity and functionality in the sector comes alongside projected increases in the sector’s market value over the medium-term. In a 2024 report, Cemex Ventures projects the construction robotics market to reach $774.6 million by 2032, which would represent a 360% increase over the 10-year period prior.

Industry Leaders Driving Robotics Innovation

“There is an exceptionally high potential for robotics in construction, and we’re only just learning how to effectively harness it,” says BuiltWorlds CEO Rosemarie Lipman. “The Robotics Top 50 list gives us a sense of the companies that are making true, impactful strides in the space. These are the companies moving construction robotics forward.”
