Eureka-DuPont Lodge 23-29 A.F.&A.M.

Eureka-DuPont Lodge No. 23-29 and Washington Lodge No. 1 participated in their first unity meeting on Thursday, October 17, 2019, and the event was unanimously proclaimed a roaring success. The brethren began the evening in ample style with good fellowship and a gourmet dinner prepared by our dedicated stewards, after which, all moved to the lodge room.

Highlights of the evening included a presentation to Bro. G. Richard Wilson of Washington Lodge No. 1. W. James R. Hanby, Jr., P.M. presented Bro. Wilson with a Certificate from the Grand Lodge marking his 55 years in the service of Freemasonry.

Eureka-DuPont Lodge No. 23-29 held it’s 2019 – 2020 officer installation ceremony on July 10.  The new officers were installed in fine form by  M∴W∴James Pletz.

Great evening tonight with the Brothers from Solomon Lodge helping pass three candidates to the degree of Fellow Craft. One of theirs, one from Washington Lodge No. 1,  and Augustine Sumo from Eureka-DuPont No. 23-29.

If you or someone you know has a child, step-child or grandchild who is graduating from the Brandywine School District and has a Masonic connection, encourage them to apply for one of the first three $1,000.00 Albert Thatcher Hanby Masonic Scholarships through the Brandywine Education Foundation funded by the Albert Thatcher Hanby Trust.

W∴Clinton Robertson was Eureka-Dupont 23-29’s guest speaker at their March Stated Communication. He wowed all present with his recollection of his time deployed to the Middle East with the Navy Reserves. Also in attendance was M∴W∴Donald Rosenberry, the Grand Master of Masons in Delaware.

History was made at Eureka-DuPont Lodge No. 23-29 when Brother Tim Jackson was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason by M∴W∴Donald Rosenberry, Delaware Grange Master, and the Delaware Colonials.  Many visiting Brothers were in attendance, and the degree, lecture and charges were performed with a passion that typifies the Colonials.

On January 11, Eureka-DuPont Lodge was honored to receive M∴W∴Donald Rosenberry for his Grand Visitation. Many Masons and their wives attended, which made for a delightful evening.  When the Brothers retired to the lodge Room for the official reception, Mrs. Jackie Armstrong, of the Sunday Breakfast Club, provided a well-received program for the ladies. Special thanks are extended to Sue O’Rourke for planning the dinner and to Kim Zenidu for helping to prepare the collation room for our guests and visitors.

It was a wonderful and festive evening at Eureka-DuPont Lodge with the Brothers, the Grand Master and many of his staff and their ladies.  Many of the Brothers brought their children and grandchildren to help wrap the hundreds of gifts that were purchased for the underprivileged children of Delaware.  A special thank-you is extended to Ms. Cindy Rietz for providing the music for the evening.
